It looks like snow at Kindergarten

We were expecting wild wintery weather. You could see the stormy grey clouds coming in from the west and building up. We could feel the temperature drop, a real cold snap! Then... we had the most wonderful downpour of HAIL !!! Hail was so loud on the roof and when we looked outside, our playground was covered in hail stones. One child said, "It looks like snow at Kindergarten!" Everyone was so excited watching it from the protection of our new covered archgola which worked perfectly well to keep us all dry. Then after the hail had stopped, the children went out to explore. Now I don't know who threw the first handful of hail... but I have a sneaking suspicion it was this person ... SHOCKING!! Then everybody started in on the fun! Teachers... children, and parents! Even our Teaching Services Manager, Jean Morgan joined in! It was so much fun. Its not often you get hail, almost like snow to enjoy at kindergarten. Now we don't mind the wintery weather, when you are given the gift of Hail

What a fantastic opening to our new Outdoor Environment !!

Well we all expected heavy rain, but instead the sun shone bright on our official playground opening... and there was such a fantastic turnout of families. This shows a wonderful sense of community we have within our kindergarten. We loved seeing both families whose children currently attend our kindergarten and also some of our past families came as well. It was great to see everyone mixing, catching up and enjoying the festivities. We are fortunate to have a lovely group of ladies on our committee that work alongside our teaching team who work tirelessly to meet, plan, organise and set up these events so that our kindergarten is ready and opportunities for fundraising are available. Their work is very much appreciated and highly valued. So we would like to say a big thank you to them. Everyone loved the Stefan the Magician and the fairy who spread their magic throughout our kindergarten. Then of course we had the official ceremonial speeches and ribbon cutting. Dale took the opportunity to acknowledge the Dan our landscape builder and his team for their wonderful work making our outdoor environment so beautiful and a place for children to investigate and explore and learn. Garth, the General Manager of the Northern Auckland Kindergarten Association cut the ribbon and everyone walked through the archway and walked the path to open our new environment! And of course a huge thank you to all the children and their families who took time during the weekend to come along to our playground opening to participate and enjoy this great event.
